The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 21 ANDERSON, Weston WWII Weston was born in 1890 on Prince Edward Island. In 1906, at the age of sixteen, he left the island to come to Saskatchewan where he worked on the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway near Wolverine. He then herded cattle for a year before homesteading near Guernsey. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in Saskatoon, one week before he would have been overage, and served with the Air Force Police in Manitoba. After his discharge, he worked for the Canadian National Railway in Winnipeg and later did some market gardening. Weston was married to Alice Wood with whom he raised three children. His brother, Jack, served in WWI. Weston passed away in 1977. ARCHER, James G. WWI & WWII James was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1892. In World War I, he joined the Army and served as a Private from 1914-18 with the Saskatchewan Light Infantry in Canada, France and Belgium. James also spent 3 years as a Regimental Sergeant Major with the Regina Rifles during World War II, serving in Canada, England, France and Belgium. After the war, he supervised a Military Leave Centre in Brussels, Belgium. He had 3 children with his wife, Anna Chaddock. James died in 1977 and is buried in Victoria, BC. ARCHER, John WWI John was born in 1887 in Edinburgh, Scotland and moved to Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Army during World War I and served as a Private in Canada and overseas. He was 29 years old when he was killed in action in 1916 while serving in France with the 5th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment Infantry. He is buried at Vimy Ridge Memorial. John never married.
