The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 225 LACEY, Charles WWI Charles was born in Wantage, Berkshire, England. He joined the Army and served in World War I. Charles was listed as a veteran in the March 2, 1917 issue of The Viscount Sun but evidence of his enlistment papers could not be found. LACY, James Percival WWI & WWII James was born in 1895 in England. Private Lacy, who spoke 7 languages, served at Gallipoli during WWI and in a military office in London, England during WWII. Following the war, he spent forty years in Canada as a farmer after which he returned to England. James was married. He died in 1970 and is buried in England. LAMMING, Edgar “Chip” WWI Chip was born in Leicester, England and came to Canada with his brother, Bill, before WWI. He helped his brother and family on the farm before and after his discharge. Chip went back to England to enlist with the British Army but was wounded and returned to Canada before the war ended. Chip married Hazel DeWolfe, a teacher at the Glynfield country school.
