The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 213 KOLSTAD, Arthur Henry WWII Henry was born to Andrew and Inga Kolstad near Viscount, SK before March 12, 1916. He served during World War II, as did his cousins, Carl, Arnold, Gus, Les and Avis Kolstad. With his wife, Elizabeth (Betty), he raised three children and taught school at various locations in Saskatchewan until he retired. He lived in Saskatoon until he died in the early 1980s. Henry was a good piano player. KOLSTAD, Avis WWII Avis was born in Viscount, SK. She lived and worked on the family farm north of Viscount until she enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force. She was one of five siblings who enlisted and served in World War II. Avis retired to Port Alberni, BC. KOLSTAD, Carl WWII Carl was born in 1908 in Winnipeg, MB and came with his parents to homestead in the Viscount, SK district. He was one of five siblings who enlisted: Gus, Arnold and Carl in the Royal Canadian Navy, Avis and Les in the Royal Canadian Air Force. After his discharge, he was a commercial fisherman until he died in 1974.
