The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 201 KELLER (nee STENSRUD), Lillie Muriel WWII Lillie was born in Meacham, SK on April 13, 1916. She joined the Canadian Women’s Army Corps in 1940 and served as a clerk in Ottawa, Canada. Discharged in 1946, she was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the Honourary Discharge Medal 1940-46. Lillie’s three siblings, Merle, Roy and Wallace, also enlisted as did her brother-in-law, Harvey Potts. She married Ken Keller after the war and moved to Toronto, ON with their daughter, Gardelle. Lillie died on December 15, 1988. KERR, Peter WWI Peter was born on September 3, 1873 in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. He was a barber by trade when he came to Canada, then he enlisted in the Army in Saskatoon, SK on March 16, 1916 and served with the 96th Battalion. After his discharge, he lived and worked in Viscount, SK and continued in his trade of barbering. He also enjoyed playing pool. He had a brother, Thomas, who lived in Sutherland in 1916. Peter has passed away. KERR, William George “Bill” WWII Bill was born in Beauséjour, MB but moved with the family to the homestead at Viscount, SK. His dad, William Sr., also owned the old Victoria Hotel. He joined the Army and served during World War II. Bill raised five children with his wife, Nell Madill, and they retired to Kelowna, BC.
