The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 195 INNES, Ronald WWII Ronald was born in Wimmer, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada during World War II. He farmed in Wimmer, married and had three children. JACKSON, Donald John Geoffery “Don” WWII Don was born on August 25, 1915 in Field, BC but he grew up on a farm north of Plunkett, SK. In 1936, he went to Scotland to article in accounting then in 1937, joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a pilot in Singapore from 1938 to 1942. He escaped to India and returned to England in 1943. He then participated in a bombing raid over Germany, was shot down and became a POW. In 1946, he rejoined the RCAF as a pilot and was stationed in numerous places in Canada, retiring to Saskatoon as Wing Commander after a four-year NATO posting in Europe. He had two children with his wife, Irene Whitefield, and was a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362. Donald died on September 26, 2006. JEFFERY, Gordon WWII & WWII Gordon was born in 1899 in Viscount, SK. With his brother, Lester, he enlisted in World War I but also served in World War II. He raised four children with his wife, Edna Keall, and they farmed north of Viscount. In 1975, he remarried and resided in Vancouver, BC with his wife, Mary (Caithcarte) Spanos. Gordon has passed away.
