The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 179 HENDERSON, Wilson WWII Wilson was born to Margaret and Howard Henderson in Colonsay, SK. The family farmed for a time in the Colonsay district, until they moved to BC, shortly after 1929. He joined the Army with his brother Doug, serving in World War II. Wilson moved to and lived in Mission, British Columbia. HENRY, James Arthur “Art” WWI Art was born on October 5, 1879 in Clinton, ON. He came to Portage La Prairie, MB with his parents, then moved to Viscount, SK to farm and then later, to run the local dray business. He joined the Army and served in World War I. Art was one of the first Lonsdale School trustees and was a ‘self-experienced veterinarian’, always willing to help a neighbor. He did square dance calling and loved to ballroom dance. In 1925, he moved to Saskatoon where he worked until he passed away on July 27, 1939. Art married and had three children. HETHERINGTON, Ernest William WWI Ernest was born in Worcestershire, England on November 3, 1895. He was with the 29th Light Horse Infantry prior to joining the Army on May 1, 1916 in Lanigan, SK and serving with the 214th Overseas Battalion during World War I. Ernest was single at the time of his enlistment and was living in Colonsay, SK, employed as a barber and engineer. His father is listed as Christopher Hetherington of Worcestershire, England.
