The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 15 ALLAN, Robert WWI Robert was born in Canada in 1894. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served with the 214th Battalion in Canada, England, France and Belgium. He served approximately seven months before he was wounded and died at Passchendaele in 1917. Robert never married. ALLAN, Robert WWII Robert was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1918. He joined the Canadian Army and served in Canada, England, France, Belgium, and Holland. He married, had one child and farmed. Robert was a member of Quill Lake Legion Branch 37 for 4 years. He died in September 2005 and is buried in Quill Lake Cemetery. ALLAN, William Ferguson “Bill” WWI Bill was born on January 26, 1895 in Toronto, ON. His family moved to the Viscount District in 1907 where he grew up on the family farm with his parents, Andrew and Rachel. He enlisted in the Army on October 27, 1917 in Saskatoon, SK and served in WWI with 12 M.D. 1st Depot Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment. Upon his discharge, he continued farming and married Melva Miller, with whom he raised two sons. Bill left the farm in 1967 and died prior to 1985.
