The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 157 GRAF, Tom S. WWII Tom was born in Viscount, SK and he attended Lucasville School, just north of there. With his brothers, Joe and Andy, he was drafted into the Army, serving overseas in World War II. He married Ida Wilkie with whom he had three children and farmed at Lucasville. Tom has since died. GRANT, John D. WWII John was born on November 1913 in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. John and his mother (who had re-married) lived in Saskatchewan in Invermay then moved to Viscount in 1926. He received his high school education there (Grade 12 with Honours). He joined the Air Force but suffered a broken ear drum which ruled him out being a pilot. Discharged from the Air Force, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served on the Atlantic coast until his discharge as Chief Petty Officer at the end of the war. He then worked for the AgnewSurpass Shoe Company in New Brunswick and married Ethel Currie with whom he raised a daughter. In 1965, he was transferred to Brantford, ON where he worked until his retirement in 1981. He became a Commissionaire for the City of Brantford. GRAY, Clifford “Cliff” WWII Cliff was born in Viscount, SK and he went to school there. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1940. After his discharge, he was employed by the B.A. Oil Co. (now Gulf) in Saskatoon, SK. He was later transferred to Winnipeg, Regina and lastly, to Calgary, AB. Cliff passed away in 1973.
