The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 147 GIBB, Ernie WWII Ernie was born in Viscount, SK and was still living as of May 2009. He joined the Army and his brother, Charlie, also signed up for military service. He was a grain buyer for Saskatchewan Wheat Pool before signing up and he continued buying grain after the war. Ernie married Hilma Dobler and they raised one daughter. GIBB, Russell WWII Russell was born in Viscount, SK on May 25, 1917. He joined the Army and served in World War II. He married Elsie Rusbridge while serving overseas and they raised two children. Russell is now a retired postman living in Saskatoon, SK. He is a cousin to Ernie and Charlie Gibb. GJOSUND, Alfred WWII Alfred was born in Meacham, SK and attended the York and Meacham schools. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force along with his brother, Herb, and they served during World War II. After his discharge, Alfred farmed in the Meacham area and married Alice Clouston, with whom he raised three sons. He died in 1965.
