WWI John was an early homesteader in the Rural Municipality of Viscount, Saskatchewan area, close to Little Manitou Lake. He served in World War I. FINK, Joseph John “Joe” WWII Joe was born on July 24, 1922 in Plunkett, SK and went to school in nearby Golden Hill. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on September 8, 1942 and served as a Corporal in Canada, England, Germany and Continental Europe. He went overseas in May 1945 just as hostilities ceased and was stationed at Bournemouth, England and Ueterson, Germany. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the Defence Medal. Discharged on May 15, 1946, Joe farmed in the Plunkett area, drove a school bus for fifteen years, was a skilled woodworker and raised five children with his wife, Alvina (Winnie) Brecht. They retired to Saskatoon, SK. He was a member of Viscount Legion Branch 271 and he passed away on February 12, 2003. FINK, Steven Anton WWII Steven was born on February 18, 1917 in Plunkett, Saskatchewan. He served in the Second World War as a Rocky Mountain Ranger in Canada and the Aleutian Islands. After the war, he went back to farming in the Plunkett area. He never married. Steven passed away on March 25, 2007.
