The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 123 ELLIS, Ernest WWI Ernest was born to George F. and Elizabeth F. Ellis on June 1, 1893 in Wolverhampton, Hampshire, England. He was single at the time of his enlistment in the Army in Valcartier, QC on September 26, 1914. A machinist by trade, he served as a Corporal with the 10th Battalion of the Alberta Regiment. Ernest died on April 9, 1917 and he is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial, located at Pas de Calais, France. ELVE, David PEACETIME David was born in Plunkett, Saskatchewan in 1949 and went to school in Plunkett and Viscount. He joined the Army in peacetime and was stationed at Petawawa, Ontario. He married Kathleen Thompson. EROS, Robbin Paul Gasue WWII Robbin was born in Cupar, SK on August 26, 1921. He joined the Royal Canadian Forces on May 29, 1941 and served as a Gunner with the 2/Anti-tank Regiment in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was discharged on January 7, 1946. He re-enlisted in Peacetime from February 2, 1952 to June 9, 1954. He received the 60th Anniversary Dutch Medal of Remembrance. In his retirement years, Robbin lived in Viscount, SK and was a member of Viscount Legion Branch 271. Robbin passed away on February 24, 2006.
