The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 121 EGETO, Frank WWII Frank was born in Plunkett, SK on October 8, 1908. He joined the Army in 1941 and served in World War II, playing an active part in the evacuation of Dunkirk. His brothers, Alex and Titus, also joined the Armed Forces. Frank raised three sons with his wife, Laura, and he operated a barber shop in Edmonton, AB until he retired in 1976. EGETO, Titus Samuel WWII Titus was born in Plunkett, SK on December 23, 1913. He joined the Army in 1943 and served for three years in World War II. His brothers, Frank and Alex, also joined the Armed Forces. Prior to his draft, he married Ann Marchuk with whom he raised seven children. After his discharge, he built a grocery store in the Fort Erie area of Ontario. He later sold out and moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he was engaged in the building of homes and apartments. ELLIOTT, John “Jay” WWI Jay was born in Franklin, Iowa in October 1878 and came to Canada in 1906 to homestead south of Viscount, SK. In his early days, he took an active part in playing baseball and was a member of The Cub Town Squad when Viscount won the honours as champs in Saskatoon’s first exhibition baseball tournament. He enlisted in the Army and served during World War I. He raised one son with his wife, Elizabeth Wilson, and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and serving as a councillor for the Rural Municipality of Colonsay, SK for a number of years. Jay died in August 1947.
