The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 101 DOHERTY, Donald WWII Donald was born in Maidstone, Saskatchewan in 1925 and came to Quill Lake, Saskatchewan around 1936. He joined the Army and served in Canada as a sniper with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, 2nd Battery. Donald married, had four children, and lives in Calgary, Alberta where he has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for a number of years. DOHERTY, James WWII James was born in Maidstone, Saskatchewan in 1924 and he came to Quill Lake around 1936. During World War II, he joined the Army and served in Canada as a sniper with the 2nd Battery of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. James married and had seven children. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion before he passed away in 2002. He is buried in Alberta. DOLPHIN, Arlington J. WWII Arlington was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, USA in 1908. He went to school at York and Meacham, SK, helped on the family farm, and in 1941, married Mary McNicoll. He then joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served overseas during World War II. Discharged in 1945 at Jericho Beach, Vancouver, BC, he lived, worked and retired in Vancouver. His father, Jack, served in the Boer War and four siblings enlisted for WWII: Bud, William, Fern and Jack Jr.
