The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 83 DRYSDALE, James Basil WWII James was born in Neepawa, Manitoba on September 17, 1923. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served on HMCS Capilano on the high seas and in the Atlantic. He trained in Winnipeg, MB and later went to Esquimalt, BC. He sailed on HMCS Capilano down to the Panama Canal and up to Halifax, NS, patrolling the North Atlantic on a frigate from Newfoundland to England and escorting convoys. After the war, he was employed with the Canadian National Railways as an engineer and he retired to Biggar, SK where he is currently living in Diamond Lodge. James was a Life Member of RCL Biggar Branch 138 for about sixty-five years. DUCIE, G.D. WWII G.D. Ducie was born on February 24, 1913 in Dundurn, Saskatchewan. He enlisted on March 20, 1943 and served in Canada in World War II. He was an Able Quartermaster 3 in the Royal Canadian Navy when he left the service on January 15, 1946. G.D. married. DUMONTIER, Albert KOREA Albert was born in Viscount, Saskatchewan on April 6, 1928. He was in the Army as well as his brother, Noel, although they served in different wars. Albert served in Korea and was later employed by the School Board Maintenance Service in Airdrie, Alberta. He never married.
