The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 69 DIENO, Fred WWII Fred was born to Henry and Ottelia Dieno on January 19, 1916 in the Manitou Hill district of Saskatchewan. He joined the Army on January 7, 1943 and served with the Regina Rifles Regiment. Fred and his brother, Otto, were both called up but Fred was unable to march due to his flat feet. Discharged in June 1944, Fred married Erna Renner and they raised seven children. A life-long farmer in the Young district, Fred passed away on April 25, 2006. DIENO, Otto WWII Otto was born in the Manitou district of Saskatchewan around 1918. He was called up to serve in the Army in World War II, along with his brother, Fred. After the war, Otto farmed in the Young, SK district. DILLABAUGH, Earl WWII Earl was born to Joseph and Violet Dillabaugh on April 20, 1920 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in Saskatchewan in the Canadian Army (Active) and served overseas in World War II. He was in the Regina Rifle Regiment at Juno Beach on the D-Day Invasion. Earl married Jessie Suttle in England in 1945 and he passed away on February 18, 2003.
