The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 33 BOTT, Horace Joseph WWII Horace was born in England in 1902. He joined the Army in 1940 and served in Canada with the Provost Corps. He wanted to go overseas but because of his age, was stationed in Moncton, New Brunswick and then later in Regina, Saskatchewan, where he was a member of the 12th District Depot Band. He was discharged with the rank of Corporal. Horace was an active member of RCL Naicam Branch 218 for forty-three years and served as its Zone Commander for a number of years. He died in 1969. BOWERING, Norman Robert PEACETIME Norman was born in Canada. He enlisted in September 1956 and served as a Private with the Ordnance Corps in Canada and in the Middle East. He was discharged in September 1963. Norman was awarded the United Nations Emergency Force Medal. He later worked as a hoist man at a Saskatchewan potash mine and was a member of RCL Viscount Branch 271. BOWMAN, Frederick August “Fred” WWII Fred was born in Plunkett, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on October 29, 1941, served as a Leading Aircraftman in Canada and England, and was discharged on April 16, 1946. Fred farmed south of Plunkett and was a member of RCL Viscount Branch 271.
