The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 327 OSTERHOUT, Floyd WWII Floyd was born in Viscount, SK on August 6, 1924. He took his schooling at Easterlea, Logan and Viscount and helped on the farm growing up. He joined the Army and served in England and Europe during World War II. His three brothers, Charlie, Forbes and Keith, also enlisted. Floyd and Keith went overseas together and were together all the time they were overseas. After his discharge, he went to Calgary, AB to work. He married Mae McMahan and they raised four children while farming near his wife’s parents at Bowden, Alberta. OSTERHOUT, Forbes WWII Forbes was born on October 12, 1920 in Viscount, SK and he went to school in Badger, Logan and Viscount. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, took his basic training in Trenton, ON but served in Canada, as a serious car accident prevented him from going overseas to serve in World War II. His three brothers, Charlie, Floyd and Keith, all enlisted. Forbes raised five children in Edmonton, Alberta with his wife, Ruth and he retired in 1984 after working many years for the Alberta Government. OSTERBOUT, Keith WWII Keith was born on Nov 4, 1923 in Turtleford, SK and went to school in Easterlea, Logan and Viscount. He joined the Army on Feb 10, 1942 and served as a Private in Canada, England, France and Holland before being discharged on March 16, 1946. He was awarded the France and Germany Star. His three brothers, Charlie, Floyd and Forbes, also enlisted and served in World War II. Keith had one son with his wife, Elva McNaughton, and they lived in Saskatoon until 1974, the year they moved to Kelowna, BC where he owned and operated a jewelry repair store. Keith passed away there on November 4, 1979. He was a member of RCL Viscount Branch 271.
