The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 321 NELSON, Oscar WWII Oscar was born in Plunkett, SK in 1907. He was a mechanic and worked in and around Plunkett before marrying Kate Lamming in 1937. He also operated a machine shop at Weirdale, SK before enlisting. He joined the Army and served in World War II. Kate’s brother, Togy Lamming, also enlisted. NORMANDEAU, Louis Joe WWI Louis served as a Private in the Army in World War I and was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the France and Germany Star. Louis was a member of RCL Viscount Branch 271. NORMANDEAU, Patrick “Pat” WWI Pat was born in St. Urbain, QC on April 3, 1896 then came West with his mother, Aurilie, and his siblings. His father, Henri, had already come and claimed a homestead. Pat joined the Army on July 6, 1918 in Regina, SK and served in Aldershot, England. After Pat returned from the war, he bought some land near his dad then married Germaine Guilmette and raised six children. In the early 1950s, he and Germaine moved to Montreal where he lived until he passed away in August 1965.
