The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 299 MILLER, Anthony “Tony” WWII & KOREA Tony was born in Viscount, SK in 1926 and attended school in Auckland, north of Viscount. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served overseas with the First Canadian Airborne Battalion. He also served with the 2nd Battalion of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry in Korea in 1951. After his final discharge, Tony went to British Columbia where he lived in Delta and worked at the Correctional Centre in Vancouver. His two brothers, Martin and Joe, also enlisted and served in World War II. MILLER, Joseph “Joe” WWII Joe was born in Viscount, SK in 1918 and attended school in Auckland, just north of Viscount. He enlisted in the Army on December 31, 1941 and served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in Canada, England, France, Italy, Holland and Belgium. He received service medals for Canada, France, England and Italy. After his discharge on November 15, 1945, he farmed in the Viscount area and did construction work. He married Denise Hamel and was a member of RCL Viscount Branch 271. Joe died on August 21, 1975. His two brothers, Martin and Tony, also served in World War II. MILLER, Martin V. WWII Martin was born in Viscount, SK in 1922 and took his education in Auckland, north of Viscount. He enlisted in the Army and served as a Lance Corporal with the Canadian Provost Corps in England. After the war, he farmed for a short while then went for a better job at the Prince Albert Penitentiary before transferring to a penitentiary in Agassiz, British Columbia. He moved to Chilliwack when he retired. Martin and his wife, Betty Bley, raised five children. His brothers, Joe and Tony, also enlisted in World War II.
