The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 271 LAMMING, William Harvey “Bill” WWI Bill was born in Leicester, England. With his brother, Edgar (Chip), he enlisted in the British Army. Bill married Ethel in England and had one son before coming to Canada. A printer by trade, he first worked in Toronto then moved out west to farm in the Plunkett, SK area. He was a linesman and he and his family took over operating the telephone office. Bill raised six children with his wife, Ethel. LANGSTON, James “Jim” WWII Jim was born in Plunkett, SK and went to school there. He joined the Army and served in World War II, as did his siblings, Enid and Reg. After his discharge, Jim drove a Coke truck in Saskatoon, SK. LANGSTON, Keith WWII Keith was born in Plunkett, SK in 1918. He took his schooling at Eltham and finished grade eight at 13 years, and then became his father’s right hand man. Keith and his brother, Lewis, both joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1940. While stationed at Mossbank, SK, he met and married Margaret Scott and they raised five children. Keith did many types of work during his lifetime, such as that of machinist, a mechanic and a welder. In Red Deer, AB, he operated a service station and lastly, was an insurance agent. Keith passed away in 1980.
