The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 263 KOLSTAD, Carl WWII Carl was born in 1908 in Winnipeg, MB and came with his parents to homestead in the Viscount, SK district. He was one of five siblings who enlisted: Gus, Arnold and Carl in the Royal Canadian Navy, Avis and Les in the Royal Canadian Air Force. After his discharge, he was a commercial fisherman until he died in 1974. KOLSTAD, Gustaf “Gus” WWII Gus was born in Viscount, SK in 1917. He was raised on a farm north of Viscount and was one of five siblings who enlisted to serve in World War II. After his discharge from the Royal Canadian Navy, Gus became a teacher and in 1976, he retired from school administration. He presently lives in in White Rock, BC with his wife, Helen. KOLSTAD, Les WWII Les was born in Viscount, SK and grew up on the family farm, just north of there. He was one of five siblings who enlisted for duty. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in World War II.
