The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 255 KNUDSON, Valdemar Otto WWII Valdemar was born on June 7, 1905 in Dalbey, Denmark. He joined the Westminster Regiment and served as a Private in Italy where he was killed in action on May 24, 1944. Valdemar was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the War Medal 1939-45, the Italy Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, and the Memorial Medal which was given to him by the Royal Danish Minister for his Majesty King Kristen of Denmark. KNUTSON, Caleb Hiram WWI Caleb was born to Aaron Knutson on June 6, 1895 in Canby, Minnesota. He was farming in southern Saskatchewan when he enrolled as a Private in Regina, SK on June 10, 1918 and he served with the 1st Depot Battalion, the Saskatchewan Regiment. Caleb died in 1990 and is interred in the Naicam Cemetery in Naicam, Saskatchewan. KNUTSON, Chandler WWII Chandler was born in 1926 in Viscount, SK. He joined the Army and served in the major campaigns, from England through to Germany. By the end of the war, he was nineteen years old. After his discharge, Chandler farmed in the Viscount area and was on the Viscount Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Committee. He drove a fuel truck for the Colonsay Co-op and later moved to Ontario, where he drove trucks for Ontario Hydro.
