The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 239 KELLINGTON, Norman Charles WWII Norman was born to Charles and Annie (Mulroney) Kellington on September 29, 1923 in Moose Jaw, SK. He enlisted as Private in the Canadian Army (Active) in Saskatchewan in 1942, served overseas with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders and was released in 1946. He was a member of RCL Moose Jaw Branch 59. Norman died on October 21, 1986 and is interred in Rosedale Cemetery in Moose Jaw. KELLINGTON, Raymond Winston “Ray” WWII Ray was born to Herb and Elsie (Jamieson) Kellington on September 9, 1924 in Naicam, SK. He enlisted as Private in the Canadian Army (Active) in Regina, SK on October 26, 1943 and was posted overseas to the Calgary Highlanders in Britain. He went with his regiment into Northwest Europe where he was wounded in action on February 27, 1945. Ray was released on demobilization in Regina on November 30, 1945 and is recorded in the regiment’s history, “Battalion of Heroes”. Ray died in Tumbler Ridge, BC on April 10, 1986. KELLINGTON, Robert “Bob” WWI Bob was born on January 11, 1886 in Brussels, ON to Matthew and Alice (Hodges) Kellington. He was farming in Saskatchewan’s Ettington district when on May 31, 1918 in Regina, SK, he enlisted as a Private with the Saskatchewan Regiment. He served in the Depot Battalion and with the regiment’s Company C in Moose Jaw. At demobilization, he was released on January 28, 1919 and went to British Columbia to join an older brother. Bob spent the rest of his life lumbering in the Port Hardy area and he died on February 14, 1952 in Vancouver, BC. He is interred in the Veteran’s Field of Honour in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Vancouver.
