The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 227 JEANNOTTE, Omer Albert WWII Omer was born to David and Lela (Bourdrie) Jeannotte at Cut Knife, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in Saskatchewan with the Westminster Regiment (Motors) and served overseas as a Private. Killed in action in Italy on September 26, 1944, Omer is interred in the Cesena War Cemetery, Cesena, Italy. Jeannotte Lake, a geomemorial in northern Saskatchewan, has been so named to perpetuate Omer’s sacrifice. JEFFERY, Gordon WWII & WWII Gordon was born in 1899 in Viscount, SK. With his brother, Lester, he enlisted in World War I but also served in World War II. He raised four children with his wife, Edna Keall, and they farmed north of Viscount. In 1975, he remarried and resided in Vancouver, BC with his wife, Mary (Caithcarte) Spanos. Gordon has passed away. JEFFERY, Lester Lewis WWI Lester was born on April 20, 1898 in Little Britain, ON. He came to Viscount, SK in 1908 with his family and grew up on the family farm just north of there. He joined the Army in Saskatoon on March 16, 1916 and served in France where he was wounded on the battlefield. His brother, Gordon, also enlisted. Lester married Lillian Emerton of Watford, England, and in 1925, settled in England where they raised two children. Lester passed away in 1979.
