He enlisted in the US Army on January 22, 1941 and served with wartime allied forces. He was a Corporal when he left the service on February 17, 1947. Loren married. HOLMSTOM, Lyle Martin PEACETIME Lyle was born in Wadena, Saskatchewan on September 28, 1952. He joined the Peacetime Forces in Saskatoon and was stationed in Moose Jaw, Alsask, Yorkton, Winnipeg, Cyprus, Calgary and Regina. He spent twenty-two years with the Forces and now lives in St. Albert, AB. Lyle was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration 1 and the UN Forces in Cyprus. HOLMSTROM, Martin WWI Martin was born to Lars and Sigred Holmstrom on November 14, 1896 in North Dakota, USA and the family moved to the Weyburn area of Saskatchewan in 1904. He enlisted with the Canadian Expeditionary Forces at 1st Depot Battalion in Regina, SK on May 16, 1918 and served in England and France with Service Group 33. He was discharged on June 10, 1919. Martin married Gerda Nordlinder and they were blessed with three sons, Evert, Eric and Gordon. Martin passed away on May 1, 1981 in Wadena, SK.
