The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 209 HNATUK, Andrew WWII Andrew was born on May 5, 1920 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He enlisted on January 7, 1941 with the Regina Rifles Regiment and served in Canada and the United Kingdom. He was a Private when he left the service in January 1946. Andrew married and a son is next of kin. HODGSON, William WWI William was born to Joseph Lawrence and Elizabeth Ann (Kellington) Hodgson on July 29, 1893 in Uxbridge Township, Ontario County, Ontario. He came with his parents when they homesteaded in Saskatchewan’s Caron district. He enlisted as a Private in the 128th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force on April 4, 1916 in Moose Jaw, SK, arrived in England on August 24, 1916 and was in the trenches in France by November. He was wounded in action on January 5, 1917, hospitalized and rejoined his unit. He was wounded a second time on May 31, 1917 and died of those wounds on June 14, 1917. William is interred in Barlin Communal Cemetery near Bethune, France. HOFF, Garvin Oliver “Garv” WWII Garv was born on September 18, 1916 in Asquith, SK. He worked on a farm and as a general store clerk before he enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps on July 15, 1940 in Saskatoon, SK. He served as a Private at No. 8 Canadian General Hospital in the United Kingdom and Northwest Europe and left the service in Regina on December 6, 1945. He then worked for a time with the Unemployment Insurance Commission and with Canada Post from 1947 to 1976. Garv married, had one son and one daughter, and he is a Life Member of RCL Nutana Branch 362, having also served as branch president. He has retired to Surrey, BC.
