The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 201 HENNING, M. J. PEACETIME M.J. Henning was born in 1927 in Melfort, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in 1945 and served with the Saskatoon Light Infantry reserves in Canada until he left the service as a Private in 1952. M. J. married. HEON, Larry Joseph SPECIAL DUTY AREA & PEACETIME Larry was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on August 7, 1964. He joined the Army on September 15, 1983 and served with the Electrical Mechanical Engineer unit in Canada, Germany, Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo. He was discharged on November 17, 2006 and was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration 1, the Special Service Medal (NATO), Peacekeeper, UnProFor, NATOBosnia and NATO-Kosovo. Larry has been an active member of RCL Loon Lake Branch 165 for more than thirty years. He also works guiding for an outfitter close to home and he resides in Loon Lake with his wife and two children. HEPP (nee NEELSON), Georgina WWII Georgina was born in Wadena, Saskatchewan in 1922. She joined the Canadian Women’s Army Corps (CWAC) and served in the Army for four years. While in the service, she served as a postal clerk in British Columbia and in Regina and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Georgina was a hairdresser for several years after she got out of the Army and came back to Wadena where she met and married Mike Hepp. They farmed for about forty years, raised several children, and were very active in their community. Mike and Georgina are presently living in Wieneda Park Lodge.
