The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 199 HENDERSON, Joseph Earle “Joe” WWII Joe was born on September 15, 1913 in Orangeville, Ontario and came with his parents, William and Emma Henderson, to a homestead near Marquis, Saskatchewan. He was in British Columbia when World War II broke out and he enlisted as Gunner in Vancouver on September 6, 1940. He served in the Royal Canadian Artillery in Britain and Northwest Europe and was released in Vancouver on November 10, 1945. Joe died in Nelson, BC on January 27, 1971. HENDERSON, Stanley William WWII Stanley was born on February 28, 1923 in Hardy, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in August 1942 and served in Canada and Newfoundland. He left the service in October 1945 as a Leading Aircraftman. Stanley married. HENDERSON, Wilson WWII Wilson was born to Margaret and Howard Henderson in Colonsay, SK. The family farmed for a time in the Colonsay district, until they moved to BC, shortly after 1929. He joined the Army with his brother Doug, serving in World War II. Wilson moved to and lived in Mission, BC and was still living as of September, 2009.
