The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 195 HAYWARD, John Frederick WWII John was born in Leask, Saskatchewan on June 3, 1917. He joined the Army in 1941 and left Halifax, NS in 1943 for overseas where he served with Transport Division in England. He spent three and a half months in an English hospital and was medically discharged in May 1945. HAYWARD, Thomas WWI Thomas was born in London, England on March 28, 1890. He joined the Army and served overseas from 1914 to 1918. He was a member of RCL Leask Branch 79. Thomas died in January 1955. HAYWARD, William WWII William was born in Leask, Saskatchewan on August 15, 1920. He joined the Army and served with the 44th Battery as a Gunner and with the 4th Field Division in England, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. William was a member of RCL Prince Albert Branch 2 and the Leask Branch 79. He died on May 30, 1998.
