The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 185 HARRISON, Reginald “Reg” WWII Reg was born on August 16, 1922 in Finnie, SK. In October 1941, he took preaircrew enlistment and on April 13, 1942, joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. He trained as a pilot, was promoted to Pilot Officer and piloted heavy bombers in RCAF Squadron 431, flying out of Croft, in Yorkshire, England. He crashed four times, bailed out once and was wounded twice, prompting the members of his squadron to call him “Crash” Harrison. Reg left the service in Winnipeg on April 13, 1945 as Flight Lieutenant then joined the Department of Veterans Affairs, working with Veterans Land Administration as property management director on the settlement of farms and small holdings. He married, had three daughters and was an elder and manager of a Presbyterian congregation in Saskatoon for more than thirty years. A keen gardener, he is a Life Member of the Saskatoon Horticultural Society and served on its executive for several years, winning many competitions for roses. Active in the Home and School Association, he also curls, golfs and lawn bowls. HART, P.B. SPECIAL AREA DUTY P.B. Hart was born on November 2, 1961 in Portage, Manitoba. He became an officer with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and then enlisted in the Army on October 10, 1980. He served in Canada and in Europe with NATO’s Provost Corps (8 CH-PL) and was a Captain when he left the service on May 5, 1985. P.B. Hart married. HARTNETT, Glen E. WWII Glen was born on December 7, 1920 in Naisberry, SK. He enlisted in Saskatoon, SK on August 8, 1941, trained as an observer and served in training command in the United Kingdom. He was Flight Lieutenant when he left the service in Regina on October 24, 1945. After the war, he took the Bachelor of Arts degree in Pharmacy at the University of Saskatchewan, was a merchant for a time and became professor of pharmacy at the College of Pharmacy, University of Saskatchewan. He married and had two sons and one daughter.
