The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 181 HANSON William F. WWII William was born in Cormorant, Saskatchewan on June 23, 1925. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on October 3, 1943 and served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe. He was a Leading Aircraftman when he left the service on May 30, 1946. William married. HARDER, Alfred WWII Alfred was born in Russia on March 11, 1924. His family immigrated to Canada and he enlisted in the Army in January 1943 in Saskatoon, SK. After training, he was posted to a light carrier regiment and went overseas in 1944, arriving in Normandy in September 1944 as reinforcement. He served in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps for two months and later was attached to the Kangaroo Regiment as a scout car driver. Alfred was a Corporal when he left the service in Regina in January 1946. After the war, he was part owner of a general store, travelled for a produce company and spent the next thirty years with a milling company. He married Dorothy Robinson and they had three sons. Alfred helped re-instate the charter for RCL Fairholme Branch 103, assisted with hockey teams for twenty-eight years and was active in scouting for eighteen years. HARDER (nee ROBINSON), Dorothy Brenda WWII Dorothy, also known as Robbie, was born in Kettleston, SK on July 19, 1923. She enlisted in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps (CWAC) in May 1943 and after training at Vermillion, Winnipeg and Saskatoon, was posted to the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps supply depot in Regina for the duration. She left the service in Regina on June 4, 1946 as a Private. She also served in the army reserves with electrical and mechanical engineers (RCEME) as CWAC and left the service with the rank of Sergeant. She was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration. Dorothy married Douglas Harder and they had three sons. She was secretary of RCL Fairholme Legion Branch 103 in the 1940s and a member of RCL Nutana Branch 362 in 1947.
