The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 139 GEISLER, F. J. PEACETIME F. J. Geisler was born on January 21, 1940 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He enlisted on September 27, 1961 and served with the Royal Canadian Air Force until he left the service on September 26, 1966. He was a Leading Aircraftman. GEMMELL, John J. WWII John was born on September 27, 1926 in Port Burwell, Ontario. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1942 and he left the service in 1945. John married. GIBB, Charles “Charlie” WWII Charlie was born in the Golden Acre district, north of Viscount, SK. Charlie and his brother, Ernie, both signed up, Charlie joining the Army in 1941 and serving as a Private with the South Saskatchewan Regiment of the Canadian Forestry Corps in Canada, England and Scotland. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and in 1945, he was discharged then married Christine Gruel, with whom he raised two sons. He farmed north of Viscount in the Lucasville district and was a member of RCL Viscount Branch 271. Charlie died in 1965 in Viscount.
