The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 119 FISHER, Cecil Lloyd WWII Cecil was born into a farming family in Watrous, north of Little Manitou Lake, Saskatchewan. He attended the Plymouth county school. He joined the Army on January 15, 1943 in Regina, SK and served as a Private in Regina, Kingston, ON, and in Victoria, Prince George and Prince Rupert, BC. Discharged on July 23, 1945, he continued farming in the district. With his wife, Annabelle, he raised two children. Cecil has passed away. FITZGERALD, B.T. WWII B.T. Fitzgerald was born on May 11, 1921 in Rosetown, Saskatchewan. He enlisted on November 29, 1941 and served in Canada with the Royal Canadian Engineers during World War II. He was a Corporal when he left the service on April 4, 1946 and he was married. FITZGERALD, Joe Frank WWII Joe was born on August 11, 1917 in Rosetown, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in Saskatoon on January 1, 1942 and trained as a paratrooper in the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion. He landed in Normandy on D-Day plus six and served in Northwest Europe. He returned to Canada in 1945 and for two years, was engaged in airborne research and development at the Airborne Regiment’s School No. 14 in Shilo, MB. He was a Sergeant when he left the service in Calgary in June 1947. Joe married and had one son and five daughters. Before the war, he was a steel rigger and afterwards, he worked as a boiler maker for thirty-five years.
