The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 113 FENN, S.F. WWII S.F. Fenn was born on July 6, 1916 at Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in April 1942 and served with the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps, leaving the Army as a Corporal. He married. FERGUSON, Gerald N. WWII Gerald was born in Sonningdale, SK. He was one of five brothers who enlisted and served in the Second World War. After his discharge, he worked as a mechanic before going into the lumber business. He worked at the Beaver Lumber Yard in Viscount from 1949 to 1951, assisting Maurice Pickering, who also served in World War II. Gerald worked in the lumber business until he retired and he raised three children with his wife, Doris Wallin. They both live in Saskatchewan, Gerald in Moose Jaw and Doris in Carlyle. FERGUSON, Leon J. “Fergie” WWII & KOREA Leon was born on June 21, 1922 at Duck Lake, SK. He enlisted in Saskatoon, SK on June 19, 1941 and served from 1941-46 with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps and the Westminster Regiment as an infantryman in the United Kingdom, Italy and Northwest Europe. He also served with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) in Korea from 1950-52. After serving in the Korean special force, he transferred to the Regular Army, still with the PPCLI, and served from 1952-72, with two stints with NATO forces in Germany: 1953-55 and 1966-69. Leon was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration. He left the service in Saskatoon in 1972 as a Sergeant. He worked with the Corps of Commissionaires for seven years and then worked with the Microtel manufacturing company for another seven years. Since retiring, he has helped Veterans Home residents get to medical appointments. Leon was married, with two sons and one daughter.
