The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 111 FEHR, David WWII David was born on November 15, 1923 just north of Saskatoon, SK. He enlisted on May 9, 1941, served with the 13th Field Regiment (RCA) from Prince Albert but went overseas as a wireless operator with the 3rd Division of the 17th Field Regiment of Artillery. In August 1943, he went to Italy where he was wounded eight months later. On April 31, 1945, he was involved in an action in Holland for which he was cited and received the Military Medal. He was severely injured the following day, flown to Britain then sent home by hospital ship. He left the service in Saskatoon in 1946 and in November that year, received the Military Medal from the governor general, Viscount Alexander of Tunis. He returned to Scotland to rejoin his Scottish wife, Margaret McGinley, remained there until 1948 then returned to Canada. After two sons born in Scotland and five daughters in Canada, Fehr was divorced from his wife. He worked for a time as a breadman and later for the Canadian National Railway as a fireman and engineer. FELLING, Claude H. WWII Claude was born on June 9, 1919 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He joined the Army in January 1941 and served with the Royal Canadian Army Artillery in the United Kingdom and Northwest Europe. He was a gunner when he left the service in October 1945. Claude married. FENN, Kenneth “Ken” WWII Ken was born in Moose Jaw, SK. He farmed in the Plunkett, SK area until he joined the Armed Forces in 1942. After his discharge, he farmed for a while north of Plunkett then moved to Moose Jaw. Later, they moved to Richmond, British Columbia where he was employed by C.P.A. as a foreman in maintenance until he retired. Ken raised three daughters with his wife, Beryl Campbell.
