The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 9 ADAMS, Archie T. WWII Archie’s parents were John and Jane Adams. They had homesteaded in the Davidson district where John had died. Archie and his mother Jane moved to Viscount in 1921, where he was raised. He joined the Army during WWII and served with the Royal Canadian Engineers as a Sapper. ALLAN, Andrew Angus WWII Andrew was born to Alexander and Hannah Allan on August 30, 1912 just north of Plunkett, SK. He attended Pilot Grove School with his brother, Munro, who served with the Saskatchewan Light Infantry. Andrew joined the Army in Regina, SK and served as a private with the South Saskatchewan Regiment in Europe. He was killed in action on August 19, 1942 in Dieppe, France and is buried in the Canadian War Cemetery at Hautot-sur-Mer, Seine Maritime, France. ALLAN, Munro WWII Andrew was born in Unity, SK on July 23, 1914. He joined the Army in 1939 and served with the Saskatoon Light Infantry in Italy, Germany and England. Upon his discharge in 1945, he returned home and delivered mail out of Burr, SK and then became pasture manager of Wolverine PFRA (Community Pasture) from 1951 to 1970. He then went on to Mayfair Community Pasture until 1976, when he retired. Munro moved to North Battleford with his wife, Lillian, with whom he had raised six children. Munro died on April 26, 1966.
