BLACKBURN, James “Jim” WWI Jim was born in 1891 in Pilot Mound, Manitoba. He came to the Jordan River District in 1912 with his brother to file for homesteads. He enlisted with the R.C.E. in December of 1916 and served overseas until his discharge in 1919. He was decorated with a medal for bravery. He married in 1935 and moved to the Arborfield area. He was an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Arborfield Branch #203. Jim passed away in 1979. BLACKSTOCK, Wesley James WWII Wesley was born on April 6, 1920 in Tregarva, SK. He moved to the Golden Plain District in 1930 and went to school there. He enlisted with the Army and served overseas for five years until his discharge in 1946. He married Myrtle Garland on March 24, 1948. They bought a farm south of Whitewood and lived there for 34 years while raising five children. They retired in 1983 and moved to Whitewood, SK. Wesley passed away on January 19, 1994. BLOW, Sidney Herbert WWII Sidney was born in 1920 in Arcola, SK. He served with the Army in Japan, Canada and Hong Kong. He was a Japanese prisoner of war for 4 years from 1941-45. Sidney passed away in 2002. BODE, Rudolph Grover WWII Rudy was born on November 3, 1919 in Sheho, SK. He enlisted with the Army on June 12, 1944 and served in the 25th Field Ambulance R.C.A.M.C. until his discharge on April 3, 1946. He married Lil Feuchuck while on farm leave on October 21, 1944. They have 5 children. On June 26th, 1959 he received his Service Medal and Canadian Volunteer Medal and Clasp. He was an avid supporter of The Royal Canadian Legion and was honoured by the General Alexander Ross Branch #77 with an honourary Life Membership. Rudy passed away on October 6, 1991. BOURASSA, Rene WWI He enlisted with the Army during WWI and served in Canada for 3 years. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion. He was married in 1933 and moved to Arborfield in 1937.
