295 www.on.legion.ca PHILLIPS, Catherine Lorraine Catherine was born in Trenton, Ontario in 1920. She enlisted in the Air Force (Regular Force) on June 25, 1943 and served as an Administrative Clerk in Canada. She was discharged on compassionate grounds in 1958 and transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force (Reserve). Catherine received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. She resided in Acton, Ontario for 36 years and passed away on March 7, 1996. PICKERING, Eric Alfred Eric was born in Jarrow Tyne, England on August 29, 1934. He enlisted in the Air Force (Regular Force) in 1952. He served in Canada, England, Germany, Belgium, and Denmark until his release in 1955. Eric is a 52-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Wallaceburg Branch 18 and resides in Chatham-Kent, Ontario. POLLOCK, Ephraim Ephraim was born on April 26, 1886, on St. Joseph Island east of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, to William and Mary (Denroan) Pollock. He resided in the village of Richards Landing, on that Island. His attestation document listed him as a fireman. Ephraim enrolled in the Army (Regular Force) with the 119th Overseas Battalion on January 31, 1916. He sailed for England on August 8, 1916. When in England, he was assigned to the No. 2 Special Service Company. He was promoted, in the field, to the rank of sergeant. Because of failing health, Ephraim was returned to Canada in the fall of 1917 and discharged on January 9, 1919. In 1924, he married Augusta Smith in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Ephraim passed away on November 29, 1957, in St. Thomas, Ontario and is buried in Windsor Grove Cemetery in Windsor, Ontario. We Will Remember Them Ontario Command
