He began his commitment to service in 2002 as a military reservist, eventually serving as a Special Forces Operator with the Canadian Special Operations Regiment (CSOR). During his tenure, he completed several deployments to Central America, where he worked alongside foreign counter-terrorism teams in an advise-and-assist training capacity. These experiences provided him with a profound understanding of the unique pressures faced by those in uniform. Upon transitioning to the Toronto Police Service, Aaron recognized a critical gap in how law enforcement engages veterans in crisis. In partnership with the Royal Canadian Legion, Veterans Affairs Canada, the Department of National Defence, and many others, he founded the Military Veterans Wellness Program (MVWP). This police-led community policing initiative equips officers with cultural competency and specialized deescalation tools to steer veterans away from homelessness and suicide toward provincial and federal support. What began as a grassroots effort in Toronto is now an internationally endorsed model hosted by INTERPOL for all 196 member countries. Recently, Aaron deployed with the Canadian Police Mission to Ukraine to adapt the MVWP for their veteran population. Honoured with the Meritorious Service Medal,Aaron remains dedicated to ensuring no veteran is left behind, bridging the gap between frontline policing and the veteran community. He was released in 2018. DAVIS, Ernest Alfred “Ernie” Alfred Ernest “Ernie” Davis was born on October 1, 1890, in Aurora, Ontario to Joseph and Zilpha Ann Freeland.
