425 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND Remembrance In the silence, where poppies bloom, We stand and honour through the gloom. With heads bowed low and hearts aflame, We speak in whispers each brave name. The fields they walked, the skies they flew, In peace or war, they saw it through. With courage strong and hearts so brave, They gave their all, both life and name. From Flanders' mud to France's shores, They fought for freedom in the Wars. In memory, we hold them near, The fallen who had faced their fear. Their sacrifice, a steadfast mark, A light still shining through the dark. We carry stories in our souls, Of battles fought and endless tolls. The Canadian flag, red and bright, Waves in remembrance, pure and light. Though years may pass and seasons change, The memory of their fight still remains. In solemn silence, we recall, The soldiers who had given all. For them, we bow, for them, we rise, Their courage lighting up our skies. In every heart, in every glance, We honour them through remembrance.
