It’s not too comfortable but it’s better than the ground. I have a little roof over my head and when it rains the trenches fill up with water, so my bed is a little wet. It’s okay though because I’m here for my country and I’m willing to take the fall for freedom. I did my first flight today. I liked it because I was able to look down on the entire battlefield. They originally said I’d be ready for the war next week but that they need me now, so I’m in a plane heading over there as we speak! I at my first meal, which was canned meat and precooked rice. Sometimes we have canned beans or corn, or crackers and dry milk and we also get hard candy and gum. We make our tea from tea tablets! It’s not a lot, but I think I’ll get used to it. I have a few friends and they keep me busy. Their names are John, Mike, Liam and Miles. They call me Rem. Sometimes we play cards on our break. We play Brag, Pontoon and Nap. I brought my friends to Christ, so we try to spend some time every day having a Bible study. They are really benefitting from it, and growing deeper into God’s Word. They are asking me questions about how I met God and my faith in Him. When they ask me how I met Him I talk about how my mom and dad brought me to Jesus when I was a little kid. When they ask about my faith, I say Jesus gives me hope for the future of our world. I spent my 24th birthday in the trenches. This was my third birthday in a trench. I miss our home in Chilliwack so much. God has blessed my friends and I by helping us through the war. Love Your Son Remi
