381 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND WHYTE, Garfield J. Garfield was born on July 18, 1896, inArtemesia Township, Grey County, Ontario. He was a lifelong resident of Priceville, Ontario. He served in both World War I and World War II. Garfield enlisted in the Army (Regular Force) in July 1940 with the Lincoln and Welland Regiment. He was killed in Halifax, Nova Scotia on February 1, 1945. WHYTE, Lloyd Vincent Lloyd was born in Priceville, Ontario in 1924. He enlisted in 1943 with the Highland Light Infantry of Canada R.C.I.C. and in that same year was sent overseas. In 1944, he was sent to the Western Front and was killed in action at the age of twenty on February 11, 1945. Lloyd is buried in the Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery in the Netherlands. WHYTE, Wesley Alexander Wes was born on February 2, 1919, in Priceville, Ontario. Between 1939 and 1945, he served in London, England and Northwest Europe (Holland, France, Italy). During his service, he met and married Daisy Sinnett in Hyde Park, London, England. He received the France and Germany Star and the Italy Star. After the war was over, they returned home to Priceville. Wes passed away on May 6, 1995.
