309 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND PAJOT, Donald Donald was born in Windsor, Ontario on November 20, 1937. He enlisted in the Navy and served on HMCS Stadaconaand HMCS Lanark. He was a Junior Officer in the UNTD and served on HMCS Lanark from the summer of 1958 to 19611962. Donald suffered an ear injury in a shooting exercise and damaged hearing loss was covered by DVA. He has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 616 for over 35 years. Donald resides in Woodlawn, Ontario. PARKER, James Elmer James was born in Paisley, Ontario on May 12, 1921. He worked as a labourer on construction and highways. He served in World War II with the Kent Regiment. James enlisted in the Army (Regular Force) in Wingham on August 13, 1940 and trained as a cook in London, Ontario. He served on Home Defence in New Westminster and Terrace, BC. He embarked to England in June 1943. James fought the Battle of Normandy, Battle of Bulge and in Holland. He was demobilized on September 22, 1945 at Camp Borden. After the war, he attended trade school as a carpenter, worked the power dam projects in Northern Ontario and at Bruce Nuclear. He married Isabelle MacKay in 1948. Together, they had a family of four boys and two girls, all raised in Paisley, Ontario. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Paisley Branch 295 for over fifty years. James passed away on June 19, 1999. PARKES, Malcolm Henry Malcolm was born in Toronto, Ontario on May 31, 1891. He was a steam fitter in Toronto when he was drafted into military service in 1917. The son of Richard and Annie Parkes, Malcolm was enrolled in service in January 1918 and was sent to France in February that same year. He served during World War I with the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles, 8th Canadian Infantry Brigade, and 3rd Canadian Division. He was wounded by shrapnel on August 26, 1918, just east of Arras, France. He died in hospital of complications from his wounds on April 27, 1919. Malcolm is buried in Buxton Cemetery in Derbyshire, England.
