McARTHUR, George C. “Brock” Brock was born on July 30, 1923 in Oakville, Ontario. He enlisted in the Canadian Army and served with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps and the 48th Highlanders in England and Europe during World War II. Brock passed away on November 7, 1995. His name is on the World War II Veteran’s Memorial at George’s Square in Oakville, Ontario. McARTHUR, James M. James was born on December 27, 1911, in Oakville, Ontario. He enlisted in the Canadian Army and served with the Toronto Scottish Regiment in England during WorldWar II. Private McArthur was with the first Contingent of Canadian soldiers to arrive in England. He attained the rank of Company Quarter Master Sergeant before year’s end in 1939. James passed away on October 4, 1980 at the National Defence Medical Centre, Ottawa, Ontario. His name is on the World War II Veterans’ Memorial at George’s Square in Oakville.
