243 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND LEFEBVRE, Gaëtan Joseph Paul Laurier Gaëtan was born on July 9, 1949, in Montreal, Quebec. He enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces on August 2, 1966, with the Canadian Military Engineers. In 1970, he participated to a Domestic Operation during the October Crisis. He also participated into foreign exchanges with the United States Army in Virginia and Kansas, and with the French Army in Besancon. Gaëtan serve until 1988. He has been residing in Hawkesbury, Ontario since 2013 and is an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Claude Nunney V.C. Memorial Branch 544. LEGAULT, Edmond Aimé Edmond was born on January 17, 1917, in Cache Bay, ON. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on August 9, 1941 in Toronto, Ontario. He was sent to Hamilton, Ontario for trade school. He served with the Royal CanadianArtillery in the United Kingdom, France, Holland, and Germany. He was 25 miles from Berlin when the war ended. Edmond was discharged on January 21, 1946 and was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, and the 1939-1945 War Medal. After the war, he returned to mining before returning to Cache Bay where he married and had two sons. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Sturgeon Falls Branch 225. Edmond passed away of cancer on December 3, 1985, at the age of 68. LEMIRE, Clémence Lucie Clémence was born on March 1, 1955, in Landrienne, Abitibi, Québec. She enrolled in the Air Force (Regular Force) on March 13, 1975, as an Administration Clerk. She served at Canadian Force Bases Summerside and Greenwood with 404 and 405 Squadrons. She retired from the Canadian Armed Forces in August 1987. She resides in Apple Hill, Ontario and is a seven-year active member with the Claude Nunney V.C. Memorial Branch 544 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
