237 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND LAGUE, Lawrence L. Lawrence was born in London, England on March 6, 1894. He served in the Army (Regular Force) with the 150th Battalion in Val Cartier, Quebec as a sapper from September 21, 1916, and was discharged on April 1, 1919 when the battalion was demobilized. Lawrence moved to the village of Mimico, Ontario where he lived with his wife May, son Donald, and daughter Patricia. They were also expecting a third child when Lawrence was killed in a construction mishap in Toronto on July 21, 1932. LAUT, Alan Alan was born on July 27, 1916, in Ontario. He joined the Canadian Army in July 1940 and served with the Algonquin Regiment in France, Germany, and Holland. He was a prisoner of war and was held in Stalag 13C for seven months. He was discharged in July 1945. Alan passed away on July 27, 2008. LAUT, William G. William was born on April 15, 1921, in Ontario. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in June 1941 and served with the Bomber Command No. 425 Squadron in England. His Squadron’s task was night bombing to protect the North Sea. William was killed in Action on November 16, 1942 in Essex, England when his aircraft was shot down by friendly fire.
