He enlisted in the Canadian Army on January 26, 1944 and served with the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada, 3rd Division, B Company in Belgium, Holland and Germany duringWorld War II. He went to Germany to join the occupation force, the Highland Light Infantry of Canada, in September 1945 and came home in June 1946. He was awarded the France and Germany Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, and the War Medal 1939-1945. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Port Perry Branch 419 for 62 years. Robert passed away on July 3, 2012. HEATHER, Harry Frederick Harry was born on March 18, 1912, in Toronto, Ontario. He served with the Militia in Toronto during the 1930s. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a fighter pilot with 14 Canadian Fighter Squadron in the Aleutians and later flew with No. 58 Royal Air Force Coastal Command in Britain before being discharged on February 12, 1946. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Fort York Branch 165 for 65 years. Harry passed away on December 31, 2008. HEATHER, Hazel Hazel was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1916. She enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1942 and served with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps at the Ottawa Headquarters duringWorldWar II. She was discharged in 1945. Hazel passed away in 1992.
