He enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1941 and served with the 166th Newfoundland Regiment of the Royal Artillery during World War II. James was killed in action in 1943 in Tunisia and is buried in the Beja War Cemetery in Tunisia. FOLLIOTT, Eric Walter Born in Oshawa on October 5, 1913, Eric attended Aurora High School between 1925 and 1930 where he was proficient in basketball and track. Through 1935 and 1941, he was employed as a furniture salesman at Adams Furniture, McKenna Furniture and T. Eaton Co. Between 1940 and 1941, he served as a trooper in Governor General’s Horse Guards reserves. Eric enlisted in the Air Force (Regular Force) on May 8, 1942, and received his wings in London, Ontario in June 1943. In July 1943, Eric was sent overseas where he was attached to 424 Squadron RCAF. On his 12th flight, on June 29, 1944, Eric was serving on Halifax LV961 carrying out night operations against Mets, France when LV961 was shot down. The entire crew of seven was killed. FORBES, James Floyd James was born in Stellarton, NS on May 14, 1924. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in April 1943 and served with the Lord Strathcona’s Horse, 4th Tank Regiment in Korea, Germany, Belgium and France during World War II and the KoreanWar. He was killed in action in 1953 at Camp Borden in a training accident.
