115 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND EKSTROM, Kenneth A. Kenneth was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on March 22, 1932. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in July 1954 and served with the Royal Canadian Regiment as a paratrooper going on two tours in Germany and three peacekeeping tours in Cyprus. He was honoured to take part in the Nijmegen March. Warrant Officer Ekstrom was discharged in September 1976. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Chatsworth Branch 464 and held many offices including President. Kenneth passed away in 2012. ELLIOTT, William Thomas William was born in Huntsville, Ontario on October 9, 1924. He enlisted in the Army (Regular Force) in September 1941 and served in Europe during World War II. He was in all the big battles starting at the beaches on the assault on D-Day, then to Beny-sur-Mer. They took a radio station then an airfield which was tough going. On to Caen, then Falaise pocket where they were bombed by the RAF by mistake. From there, they chased them across France to Boulogne, to Calais and to Cap Griz-Nez, Dover, to Belgium where he visited Ypres and Hill 69, then on to Belgium and Holland. He was discharged on February 11, 1946. He passed away on April 14, 2012. ENDICOTT, Clinton N. Clinton was born on March 21, 1913 in Omemee, Ontario. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1943 and served with the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve in the NorthAtlantic and volunteered with the Pacific Force duringWorldWar II. Clinton was discharged in April 1946. He was a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Harry Brown V.C. Branch 497 for 51 years where he had served as Past President and received a Meritorious Service Medal for his dedication. Clinton passed away on August 22, 2000.
