Military Service Recognition Book 498 ONTARIO COMMAND WESTON, Robert L. Robert was born in July of 1920 in St. Mary’s, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in September of 1939 and served during World War II with the Perth Regiment in Canada and in Europe. He was discharged in 1952. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Legion Branch 236 before he passed away in October of 2003. WHITE, Eric E. Eric was born in Victoria, BC on August 12, 1961. He joined the Army Reserves in 1977 and served for two years. He joined the Regular Army in 1980 and trained as a cook at CFB Borden. Upon graduating, he served at CFS Holberg for one year and then the 1st Service Battalion at CFB Calgary for eight years. During that time, he did two peacekeeping tours to Cyprus in 1981 and 1986. Eric was posted to HMCS Cormorant and served two years on the east coast with the Canadian Navy. In 1990, Eric re-mustered to the RCAF training as a Metal Technician. He was posted to Portage La Prairie for two years and then to 416 Squadron at CFB Cold Lake for eight years. In 1999, he took his last posting to 443 Squadron at CFB Pat Bay, BC before taking his release into civilian life in June of 2000. He now lives in Williamstown, ON. He is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion. WETTLAUFER, Leonard Louis Leonard was born in Normandy on April 30, 1921. He joined the Army at Torbay, Newfoundland on March 29, 1943. He served with the Canadian Infantry Corps (Q.O.R. of Canada) as a Rifleman during World War II and served in Canada, the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, North Atlantic Area, France and Germany. He went overseas in January of 1944, and saw action in Holland and while at the Rhine he took sick and was hospitalized. He was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, the France and Germany Star, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He returned home and was discharged on April 11, 1946.
